He is the top candidate according to a Party Casino poll that surveyed 1,000 people with 5.20% tipping for him as they would like him to be given a license to kill.

Apart from him, 2.40% wanted Paul Mescal for the role. Meanwhile, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Richard Madden, Tom Holland, and James Norton are the other contenders to be considered for the role.

The Inception actor in a 2019 interview with Guardian got candid about becoming a new actor to play 007. It might be quite a surprise as he seemed to be a perfect fit for the role given his past performances.

However, he has different thoughts about the same. He shared,

“There’s two things I’ll say about that. Firstly, there’s a whole other industry which is completely separate from the film side of things, and that’s the bookies.”

He further believed that the next James should be “a woman” which is why he ruled himself out.

His capabilities are signs that no one can yet rule out the possibility of him in the franchise as Pierce Brosnan, who is also an Irish actor is credited to have portrayed one of the best James Bond to date.

The spy role was last played by Daniel Craig in the 2021 film, No Time to Die which grossed over $774 million worldwide.
