Stephen Curry 02032024

The Golden State Warriors need Stephen Curry more than ever in their dynasty run.

The two-time MVP and four-time NBA champion has been the only consistent offense for the Warriors this season. With Curry, Golden State boasts a 119.8 offensive rating, compared to a 116.1 with him off the floor.

But the Warriors will need to manage without their superstar as he recovers from the ankle injury he suffered in Thursday’s 125-122 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Curry twisted his ankle toward the end of the game, forcing him to leave the court for further evaluation.

The Warriors host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. Will Curry be available to play?

Is Stephen Curry playing tonight?

Curry has been ruled out for Saturday’s game, The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported.

The two-time MVP sprained his right ankle in Thursday’s 125-122 loss to the Bulls. He left the game late in the fourth quarter. Curry posted 15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist on 27.8% shooting in 29 minutes.

Steve Kerr told reporters after the loss that Curry had his “foot in a bucket of ice” but didn’t have any other update regarding the injury. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski later reported that Curry underwent an MRI, which came back clean.

Chris Paul will likely take over the starting point guard duties while Curry is sidelined. Draymond Green is confident the team won’t falter in the MVP’s absence.

“We know he is more than capable. He’s Chris Paul,” Green said, per ESPN. “It’s been incredible having C here, but then you have Steph going down — no one is Steph Curry in the NBA. But knowing you are going into the game with a guy who can win you game after game after game, it definitely gives you confidence going in knowing that you are more than capable to win games.”

Curry is averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game on 44.9% shooting from the field and 40.7% shooting from 3-point range. Saturday will be just Curry’s fourth absence of the season.
