James Corden stunned David Beckham with his cringe question about the Spice Girls.

The comedian held a quickfire question and answer session with the former footballer. David is a close friend of the Gavin & Stacey star, but it appeared James couldn’t help but try and get the England ace to answer a very awkward question about his wife. mirror.co.uk/all-about/victoria-beckham> Victoria Beckham shot to fame as a member of the Spice Girls alongside Mel C, Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton.

Speaking on the This Life of Mine Show, James asked as series of questions that he needed to answer in three seconds including David’s favourite smell and his favourite meals. He then asked: “Spice Girl other than Victoria.” David appeared stunned as he replied: “Well, that’s a tough one.” James added: “You don’t have to answer.”

James has recently returned to the UK after his eight-year stint presenting The Late Late Show came to an end. The presenter, his wife Julia and their three kids were said to be looking for a pad in star-studded Hampstead, North London. T he Beckhams live in a nearby £31 million townhouse in London’s leafy Holland Park, which is their base in the week.

At weekends, they often escape to their £12 million country bolthole in the Cotswolds where they own a converted barn in Chipping Norton, not far from celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse. James is said to have sold the LA mansion his family lived in for £14.5 million – apparently £4 million less than he wanted for it. But the chat show host still made a massive profit on the purchase, which he bought for £8 million from Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan back in 2017.

Over the years James and David have showed off their close bond as the footballer looked unrecognisable as he marked his pal’s birthday last year. In a throwback snap of their Miami Vice skit on The Late Late Show back in 2020, the pair donned ill-fitting white suits and blonde mullet wigs to channel James “Sonny” Crockett, the character made famous by actor Don Johnson in the Eighties.

David posted a snap of the hilarious moment alongside the vintage sports car they drove in the skit to his Instagram stories as Corden turned 45, with the caption: “@j_corden Happy Birthday mate.” In 2017, the pair couldn’t stop giggling as David joined James in a hilarious sketch with saw the TV funnyman dress up as a woman. David was looking as dapper as ever as he donned a bowtie for a skit where he and James tried out for the part of James Bond.

In the special edition of the Late Late Show, David could hardly stifle his giggles as James appeared in one scene as an archetypal Bond Girl wearing a floor length black gown and fur shawl. The Gavin & Stacey star added a long brunette wig and long lace gloves to complete his drag look.
