“That’s Scary”: Ayesha Curry Breaks Silence on Her Political Future After Husband Steph’s President Stir

During a recent “CBS This Morning” stint promoting his new children’s book, “I Am Extraordinary,” Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry fielded a question about his post-basketball aspirations. Politics, it seemed, could be on the menu. When asked about running for Presidency post-retirement, Curry responded, “I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can so if that’s the way to do it.” Wife Ayesha Curry resonated with leveraging their influence for the greater good but calls the political part “scary“.

In the interview, Chef Curry continued, “I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.” Curry, ever the smooth operator, didn’t exactly declare a run for the White House. But he did hint at a future where his influence extends beyond the three-point line.

Wife Ayesha, ever the voice of reason (probably picturing the stress of a campaign trail), reportedly found the presidential possibility a tad daunting. Still, Curry wouldn’t completely shut down the idea. When pressed about a 2028 run, he chuckled and said, “Not that soon.”

The Curry’s have been leveraging their influence so much so that in order to do their community some good, they established their non-profit organization, Eat. Learn. Play. and haven’t looked back since.

The Curry’s Go Above & Beyond

Sunshine, sweat, and surprise high fives from Steph Curry were the highlights of the 15th Oakland Marathon, organized by Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. this Sunday. The event was a record-breaker, with a 20% increase in participants compared to last year. Runners and walkers of all speeds celebrated their achievements at the finish line near Lake Merritt.

Adding to the excitement, Stephen and Ayesha Curry were there to cheer on the finishers and dole out some high fives. Their dedication to Oakland goes beyond surprise high fives, though. Their non-profit, Eat. Learn. Play., partnered with the marathon to support the city’s public schools.

Even back in 2021 the Currys announced another brilliant initiative through Eat. Learn. Play., a $50 million investment to support Oakland students in three key areas: gobbling up healthy meals, getting their brains fired up, and staying active.

Over 6 million healthy meals a year have been aimed to be headed to nearly 35,000 students across 85 schools.  Along with that, a unique “Eat. Learn. Play. Bus” will serve as a mobile resource center, delivering 25,000 nutritious meals and 100,000 culturally relevant books to Oakland youth and families every year. 25 playgrounds were to be transformed, with a major boost to school sports programs. These revamped spaces were to feature state-of-the-art multi-sport courts, mini soccer pitches, community gardens, outdoor classrooms and more.

Maybe Steph is the kind of charismatic POTUS America needs, and Ayesha the relatable FLOTUS the nation would adore. Share your thoughts in the comments below!
