Bosa brothers’ mother pleads with 49ers to make family’s dream a reality
Being the mother of two NFL players playing in different cities is no easy feat, with all the travel time in between and supporting them when they play each other – just ask Donna Kelce, the mother of Travis and Jason Kelce. And that’s why it is the dream of Cheryl Bosa to see her two sons play for the same NFL franchise some day as she pleaded with San Francisco 49ers to make it happen.
Mama Bosa, whose sons are 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa and Los Angeles Chargers man Joey Bosa, is keen for her boys to play on the same team, rather than against each other, in the future.
Rumors suggest the 49ers are taking a look at acquiring Joey, 28, and she sent the San Francisco organization a hopeful plea to unite her sons in the Bay.
“OMG! Do it for Mama,” Cheryl wrote on her Instagram story with a graphic hinting at a potential team-up.
And then she went one step further, posting a mock-up photo of the Bosa brothers dressed in the 49ers uniform, warning the other teams they should be “scared” of the prospect of them playing together.
“The league should be very scared if this happens,” she added, captioning the photo of the Bosa brothers.
Will Joey Bosa move to the 49ers?
While the Chargers failed to make the playoffs, the 49ers went all the way to the Super Bowl and took the Kansas City Chiefs to overtime before they lost.
Los Angeles have hired Jim Harbaugh as head coach and Joe Hortiz as their general manager, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for Bosa, who was their No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
It is believed the 49ers could be keen on Bosa to add more depth in his brother’s position, as improving their defensive line is thought to be a priority for the team in 2024.
However, with players like Randy Gregory and Chase Young entering free agency with a lower salary, Mama Bosa may have to wait for her dream to be realised.
