At just 28 years of age, Patrick Mahomes had already been getting ‘GOAT‘ shouts from the Chiefs fans, crediting to his unbelievable performance in the 2020 Super Bowl.

His recent accomplishment is astounding as he overtakes another NFL to cement his legacy further. Mahomes has consistently been credited for his fantastic passing and unpredictable style to complete touchdowns.

His passing yards have crossed Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw’s in the same category in 72 lesser games. We see his development into one of the best players of the modern era alongside Tom Brady as Mahomes achieves yet another milestone.

Mahomes moves into an elite list ranking under 70 in passing yards

At 23, he had already become the NFL MVP in 2018, passing over 5000 yards and completing 50 touchdowns, becoming just the third player to do so. Pittsburg Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw had often called the developments in the modern game casting a vast difference in what it used to be during his time. Bradshaw had earlier warned Mahomes that going to for the three-peat, saying, “next year will be exhausting.” However, in February, Mahomes said, “It [would be] legendary,” who now ranks 65th in all-time passing yards for a player. Ron Jaworski and Terry Bradshaw follow him at 66 and 67, respectively. Nonetheless, he is still miles away from matching Brady at the top or Aaron Rogers around him.

Patrick Mahomes has recorded an impressive 28,424 Passing Yards in 96 games compared to Bradshaw’s passing of 27,989 Passing Yards in 168 games. While Bradshaw has backed himself, he said, “It was a different football game completely. Not to say that these guys wouldn’t be outstanding. If Mahomes played for Pittsburgh, his numbers wouldn’t be any different.” His mutual respect for Mahomes showcases his pride in the talented quarterback’s performances over the years.

Mahomes future in the NFL

Patrick Mahomes has maintained high spirits after winning back-to-back Super Bowls, making his total at three. His achievements and quality make him a hot commodity for the Kansas City Chiefs, who have held onto his services by tying him with $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026. Brady’s four-year deal also gives him another shot at an increased payment, making the days of him being underpaid numbered.

When asked about a three-peat, he said, “No one’s ever done it, and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back. Eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. ” This shows his dreams of achieving the unachievable and his competitive spirit.
